iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ Review (2020)
The iRocker Cruiser 10’6 is stable, allowing even larger beginner paddlers feel comfortable on this relatively verstile high quality all-around that’s best suited for cruising. (Updated for 2020)
There are so many boards out there, but I kind of want to know more about them all, so here’s a review of this iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ inflatable stand up paddle board.
Check its price and delivery conditions here: iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP package.
Quick Overview For The Hasty
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP measures 10’6″x 33″x 6″ (length x width x thickness), weighs 25 lbs and can carry up to 400 lbs. It’s a kind of all-around inflatable SUP geared more towards general relaxing paddling with excellent stability (cruising).
Who is this for? Riders up to 400 lbs who are into just paddling at a relaxing pace even with companion(s), but also for river riding, fishing and practicing yoga.
How’s the performance? The iRocker CRUISER is very stable, allowing even larger beginner paddlers feel comfortable riding on it, but it may not feel fast enough, lessening the challenge of it once past the beginner phase, unless relaxation was the aim. It might be stable in choppy conditions, but usually that is brought about by the wind which doesn’t play all that nice with this board as it affects the board quite a bit. Good for calmer river riding though, too choppy and you might find it to be a bit of trouble to manouver the way you’d like. It’s called a CRUISER for a reason.
Who And What Is iRocker CRUISER Designed For?
In summary, designed for:
- who: rider(s) up to 400 lbs;
- what: stable all-around (flatwater or choppy water paddling, calmer river riding, fishing, yoga).
Being 10 feet and 6 inches in lenght, 6 inches thick and 33 inches wide with a squash tail makes the iRocker CRUISER extremely stable, an extra stable all-around. It’s wide enough to make a beginner larger paddler feel comfortable on it and allows more experienced paddlers to take the time off by just paddling around at a slower pace with a companion, friend, kids, pets, or extra equipment for fishing or practicing yoga. I wouldn’t recommend it for surfing nor racing, and unless you prefer going real slow, not really for touring either.
For it is so stable, it may feel less challenging to ride than most other boards in typical conditions, so clearly it’s more for relaxation overall.
How Does iRocker CRUISER Perform?
In short, the iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP performance can be described as:
- extremely stable
- slow pace
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP was designed for maximum stability. But because of that, building up great speed is not really something this SUP board was for. It turns and tracks relatively well at a relaxing pace (what do I mean by “relaxing pace”, you might wonder… It’s subjective and may or may not apply in your case were you to try this. BUT in other words, turning on its own axis might not work out flawlessly and you’d turn a little more like a car would. At least that’s what I’ve gathered from some user experience).
The downside might be that when there’s a bit stronger wind hurling about, the board is influenced by it quite a bit. It might be stable in choppy waters during wind, but it might not build much of any speed against such wind.

How Is This Review Conducted
I feel the urge to point out that there is no reason for me to praise this board nor any of the other boards similar to this one.
This review about the iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP board is based on information I’ve gathered from around the web while looking for a SUP to buy for myself. I’ve simply structured my findings and presented them here in a way that hopefully is helpful for others like me wanting to make a more informed decision. Writing it out like this helps me make more sense of the world of SUP.
To get a good understanding of iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ inflatable stand up paddle board, I’ve read lots of dedicated reviews, much like you have, I hope, many more customer reviews and of course all the specific type of disclosures I could find so as to fact check as much as possible. Granted, much of it has been outdated, but when looking at the bright side, it has given me a good overview how the brand and this board in particular have progressed thanks to them listening to their customers’ feedback and making changes accordingly all the way to this point.
Specs Of The iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP Board When Inflated
[table id=3 /]
1 – type
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP board’s type is difficult for me to pinpoint, so instead, I’ll call it a hybrid that’s designed more for relaxing type of activities such as simply just paddling around and enjoying the moment alone or together with somebody else, or fishing, practising yoga, etc. But it’s not exactly good for surfing, though it doesn’t exclude anything, it will simply be rather difficult.
2 – construction
It’s INFLATABLE, military grade durable, so very tough. It might sound unintuitive, but compared to a solid board, it doesn’t scratch nor crack and is actually more durable in this sense using heat-welded seams and a six-inch quad-layer drop stitch military-grade core. The iRocker CRUISER can be deflated, rolled up and stored in the backpack that comes with buying this board, making it suitable for traveling or for reaching locations you wouldn’t quite reach otherwise.
3 – lenght
iRocker CRUISER is 10 feet and 6 inches in length. Not too long nor too short when compared to SUP boards overall that can range from less than 8 feet to more than 14 feet in lenght.
4 – width
Its width, 33 inches at its widest point, makes it very stable as it’s not too long of a board, as was mentioned already. Width dictates how stable the board is side-to-side.
5 – thickness
The iRocker CRUISER inflatable SUP board is 6 inches thick. Typically, inflatable boards range from 4 to 6 inches of thickness. Thicker boards feel stiffer and more stable than thinner boards, but given this board width, it might not be as stiff as a narrower iSUP would be at the same pressure level (PSI), though one might argue the difference is hardly noticeable if at all. But stable it will be indeed.
6 – tail width
22 inches, that’s the tail width of this board. This means the shape of the tail, squash tail (almost like a square tail, but with rounded corners), makes the iRocker CRUISER even more stable as it doesn’t let the board tip from side-to-side all that much when compared to a round or point tail.
7 – weight
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP board weighs 25 pounds. If you stored it in the iRocker backpack that was fully loaded with other accessories too, then the iRocker backpack would weigh 39 pounds (more about the backpack somewhere below).
8 – weight capacity
The iRocker CRUISER weight capacity is 400 pounds. It’s good for larger paddlers, a nice family board for it can carry more than 1 person, kids or pets for example, or extra luggage, camping or fishing equipment for example.
9 – volume
The volume, which is 234 liters (L) for this board, is a reference point for determining optimal performance, generally for non-performance type of SUP activities, 2x your weight in kilograms is the optimal volume of the board, but it can be 3x your weight too. So if you weighed 257,4 pounds: 257,4 / 2.2 = 117 (kg), the optimal volume would be 117 (kg) x 2 = 234 (L), this board’s volume.
When deflated
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP, when deflated and rolled up, is 36 inches wide and 12 inches in diameter.
What is iRocker CRUISER Made Of?
To keep it short:
- quad (4) layer military grade drop stitch material (PVC)
Like all iRocker boards, likewise, the CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP is made of quad (4) layer military grade drop stitch material, so it’s a tough board. No drop, dent or ding will damage this board. But if it were to get damaged from something miniscule, the support from iRocker has been forthcoming (they really care about their reputation and try to fix things in cases like that, so try not to panic in case of defects and report the problem respectfully).
What is PVC? PVC material (link opens in a new tab).
What Are The Features Of iRocker CRUISER iSUP Board?
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ inflatable stand up paddle board comes in 6 different colors codes: black, blue, aqua, orange, green or yellow.
Aside from colors, following are the features of the iRocker CRUISER:
- 1 D-ring at the nose of the board
- Action mount for Go-Pro and the like
- 6 D-rings for cargo storage bungee or other stuff
- 2 Safety Handles
- 8 D-rings for optional kayak seat / shoulder straps, etc
- Carry handle
- Crocodile textured grooved deck pad
- Inflation valve
- 1 D-ring for ankle leash
- Rear grab handle
- 1 D-ring at the underside of the board
- 3 fins
1 – D-ring (1)
At the nose of the board, there’s a D-ring for towing or attaching an anchor to the board.
2 – Action mount (1)
Mounted together with the D-ring at the nose, there’s also an action mount for Go-Pro and the like.
3 – front D-rings (6) and bungee net
The bungee net at the front can be used for a couple of things as an extra storage area. If you practised yoga for example, you could slip the paddle under it for the meantime. But 6 D-rings holding the bungee net can be used to for other accessories too.
4 – Safety handles
Attached to the bungee cord system are 2 safety handles mainly for passengers.
5 – center D-rings (8)
iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP has 8 center D-rings. The 4 D-rings at the center can be used for various accessories as well. An attachable kayak seat can be bought separately from iRockers, same with carry straps that attach to the 4 D-rings, but you could buy a box that attaches to them which you can use to store fish in it when fishing and you can sit on that box, too, for example.
6 – carry handle
The carry handle in the middle is made of material that doesn’t tear your hand while carrying the board. If that’s too inconvenient, you can buy the carry straps instead, purchasable separately, which attach to the 4 D-rings mentioned earlier.
7 – deck pad
The crocodile textured diamond groove deck pad of iRocker CRUISER is soft enough to allow for a comfortable ride – it helps you stay on your feet while standing. It goes all the way to the front of the board so that companion(s) have somewhere to firmly stand on. The deck pad doesn’t get too hot when paddling under the sun.
8 – inflation valve
This is where the iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP can be inflated using the handpump that comes with the purchase. It’s a high pressure inflation valve. A full inflate takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the optimal air pressure (15 PSI). At about 7 PSI you might feel like it’s already full, but it’s not, so keep pumping.
9 – rear D-ring for ankle leash
This D-ring is for connecting your leash to the board. The other end of the leash wraps around your ankle. The purpose of it is for you and your board to not get separated in case you fell off. In some scenarios, the board can drift away faster than you can swim, so the leash can prove to be a lifesaver.
10 – rear grab handle
The iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP has a carry handle located at the back end of the board from which you can pull it out of the water. It’s made of the same material as the center carry handle, so it doesn’t tear your hand when pulling.
11 – D-ring (1)
Under the board at the nose of the board is an extra D-ring.
12 – 3 fins
At the bottom back end of the board, you will find 3 fins. They are all included in the package. The middle one, which is bigger than the 2 side fins, is detachable using a flip lock system. No tools are required to remove or install the main fin, plus it’s super easy to do.
What Else Is Included With iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP?
When buying iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP package, as with all iRocker packages, you’ll get to choose your preferable color code – this board has 6 different colors to choose from – and you also get all the included iRocker accessories that come with the purchase:
- paddle,
- leash,
- backpack carry bag,
- handpump,
Additionally, offered separately for extra cost are the iRocker:
- kayak seat,
- kayak paddle blade attachment.
Let’s break it down, starting with the accessories included with the purchase and ending with non-essentials not included with the purchase, acquired separately from the main package.
Paddle
The iRocker paddle floats, has a convenient rubber grip, its color matches with the color you chose your board to be, adjustable from 72 to 86 inches and can be broken down into 3 pieces for conveniently storing in the backpack. Apart from that, it’s made of fiberglass which is lightweight and inexpensive, comparable to a wooden paddle that has the aesthetics (subjective) but none of the extra convenience our paddle here comes with. Notice how the edges are enforced for more durability. The upgrade next in line would be a carbon based paddle, but that would cost 2 or 3 times as much. For a relaxing type of SUP board, carbon might be an overkill anyway. So yeah: that’ll do, fib, that’ll do. Learn more about SUP Paddles here (link opens in a new tab).
Leash
The iRocker coil leash, included with the purchase, comes in a corresponding color code matching with the color you chose your board to be. Its one end straps around your ankle while the other end can be attached to the board – that way you won’t get separated from your board. It’s acrucial piece of equipment in windy conditions when it comes to this particular board, iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP, which is by affected by the wind quite a bit.
Backpack carry bag
Built with quality materials and for traveling, The iRocker backpack is big enough to fit everything – the iRocker board, paddle, pump, leash – and a little more, such as change of clothes, towels, bottles, etc. The inner side of the bag has 2 adjustable straps to tighten and secure the contents from bouncing around inside. There’s also an extra handle on the side of bag, yet another way to carry the bag is always a plus. When fully loaded, it’s reported to be about 3 feet tall, 16 inches wide and 18 inches deep (give or take couple inches), weighing 39 pounds.
Pump
It’s an iRocker triple-action handpump that you can switch to single or dual action once you reach higher pressures in order to make pumping easier. The handpump comes with an integrated pressure gauge located on the very top, so that you can get the air pressure right. The optimal air pressure is 14-15 PSI, the board can hold up to 23 PSI. It takes about 5 to 15 minutes to inflate, 3 to 10 min to deflate and roll up. If you’re considering getting an electric pump thinking it will be easier and faster, unless it’s a super good one, the handpump will likely outperform it in many aspects (speed, weight, accessability, etc)
So Is iRocker CRUISER For You?
When it comes to iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ inflatable SUP, people overall like this board a lot. Some sources say it’s iRocker’s most popular board.
It’s built for maximum stability, suitable for larger paddlers or any1 else enjoying a more relaxing pace with friends or family, be it then beginners or experienced paddlers.
It is suitable even for river riding. Wide enough to do yoga on, can carry quite a bit which makes it good for even fishing. Not really for surfing nor gliding through water with a little rush from speed. Relaxing pace, rather.
For what it is, I believe there isn’t a better one at this price point (casually bold statement, I know…).

CONCLUSION
You’ve found a suitable all-around (sort of) iSUP board when you were looking for an extremely good quality yet affordable wider board for paddling at a relaxing pace while maintaining really good stability.
If what’s described resonates with you, the iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ inflatable stand up paddle board might be for you. I will say this though: it may lack the challenge once past the beginner phase, unless relaxation was the aim all along.
iRocker Brand
The company behind iRocker CRUISER has upgraded and polished their board over the years with respect to their customers’ feedback.
iRocker ALL-AROUND 11′ iSUP Board
The iRocker CRUISER 10’6″ iSUP is wide and extremely stable sort of all-around board. Better suited for flatwater paddling, stable enough in choppy waters too, but it’s suceptible to wind as it’s not built for speed only, though it’s okay for calmer river riding. Go fishing, lake or river riding, some ocean paddling or do some yoga, it’s suitable for all that. It can handle larger or multiple paddlers too.
Included Accessories
Included with the iRocker CRUISER package are quality iRocker paddle, backpack, handpump, and a coiled ankle leash.
